  • Postpartum Weightloss

We all know that it's hard to shed those pregnancy pounds. Today marks the day of my son's 2 month's of life, and my 40lb weight loss. Mind you, I struggled with an eating disorder for years before I got pregnant, and postpartum, I jumped back into it, hence the 20lbs a month I lost. However, Sunday marked the day that instead of using my eating disorder to lose weight, I do it the right way... and with weight loss, I will gain a better physique, strength, and even more confidence in my abilities to keep it off, and that I look good. With the help of Self.com's Reach Your Goal challenge, I am on my weight to a better body postpartum. They have 3-4 different goals you can choose from, with each goal comes a set of cardio workouts, and strengthening workouts you can do. I obviously chose the Finally Lose that Baby Weight Challenge, and believe me the cardio in itself is easy to do with the baby: while walking with the stroller, when they are napping, and even one for when you do end up finding some free time. The strengthening is done with freeweights (whatever size you want to use) and its easy to build muscle without becoming bulky. Free weights are a great way to create long lean muscle instead of bulky muscle. As women we all want muscle and strength, but not looking bulky like the men!

How far are you post partum,  how much weight have you lost, and what did you do to get there?

  • Hush Little Baby it's naptime again....

Usually when infants are tired they seem to fall right asleep right? Wrong. See, my 2 month old baby boy decided that he was going to fight sleep all day long, even though his red puffy eyes clearly showed that he was simply exhausted. The screaming and crying, and fussing does me in to the point where I don't know if I'm going to rip my hair out or cry. It took me over an hour and 15 minutes to finally get him to fall asleep. With a combination of rocking, bouncing, music, laying down with him, letting him suck on a binky etc, I was all tired out myself. He's at the point where when you put him down, he wakes up.

Have any of you had this problem? How long does it take you to get your kids down for a nap. What do you do to help them fall asleep and stay asleep?
